Unexpected flowers

: There is the expected, and there is the unexpected. When it's a special day for your significant other or close friend, he or she may be expecting something, and it is important to come through. But, most people agree that the best time to receive flowers and gifts is when they aren't expecting them at all. A recent survey shows that for every 20 Americans who think Valentine's Day is the best time to receive flowers, 30 others think it's even more special when flowers are received with no special occasion in mind. It's the unexpected surprise and thoughtfulness behind the gift that means so much. A gift on an Anniversary or Mother's Day may be rightfully expected, but receiving a gift that express love in the middle of a stressful week can turn a troubled time to a happy one. When you really love someone, it's often the little unexpected gestures that really show them how much you care. And, sending a surprise message of caring doesn't have to cost a bundle. While 26% percent of Americans named jewelry as the gift most likely to make them smile, flowers ranked a close second at 23%, and there are a variety of fresh flower gift options at most local florists in the $10 to $20 range. Other great gifts include candies, cards, books, CDs, a special dinner out, or a romantic movie at home. Use your imagination. Think flowers and gifts are just for women? Think again. Research shows that men are just as likely as women to appreciate flowers and gifts, especially when given for no special occasion. A colorful bouquet with a bold, masculine flair can brighten up any guy's office workday, and the gift's beauty and aroma will remind him of you every time he sees it. We all like presents, and most people agree that an unexpected gift can turn a day around. So, remember what great gift-givers throughout the ages have always known -- it's that thoughtful gift and personal note for "no special reason" that really gets noticed. Whether it's a Monday, a bad hair day, laundry day, or any day of the week, you can always make it more special with flowers, a card, or some other personal token delivered. But whatever it is, the most important thing is that it is straight from the heart. *** By John E. Williams, courtesy of the fresh flowers gift people at 1-800-FLORALS, providing same day and next day florist delivery of roses, bouquets, plants, and gift baskets throughout the USA and Canada, since 1923. Why are our clothes made to standard sizes

Like so much in American life, the standard clothing sizes we use today can be traced back to the Civil War. If that answer sounds glib, it isn’t meant to be. The Civil War was the pivotal event in American history, marking a transition to the modern era, and heralding changes that stood until the 1940s. It even changed the way we buy our clothes. Antebellum Clothing Sizing Prior to the Civil War, the overwhelming majority of clothing, for men and women, was tailor-made or home-made. There was a limited variety of mass produced, standardized clothing items, mainly jackets, coats, and undergarments, but even these were only produced in limited quantities. For the most part, clothing for men was made on an individual basis. The Civil War changed that. Mass Producing Uniforms During the war, the Northern and Southern armies both needed large quantities of uniforms in a hurry. The South, without a large industrial base, relied primarily on home manufacture for uniforms, and through the war Southern armies typically suffered from a shortage of clothing. The North changed garment making history forever. It quickly became apparent that the Northern armies could not be supplied with uniforms using traditional modes of clothing production. Fortunately, the North had a well developed textile industry that could meet the challenge. When the government began to contract with factories for mass produced uniforms, the textile manufacturers quickly realized that they could not make every uniform for a particular soldier. The only option was to standardize the soldiers’ uniforms. They sent tailors to the armies, to measure the men, and saw that certain measurements, of arm length, chest size, shoulder width, waist size, and inseam length, would appear together with reliable regularity. Using this mass of measurement information, they put together the first size charts for men’s clothing. After the War So why didn’t the textile companies go back to the older production methods after the Civil War? The answer lies in profits, as with many things in business. Clothing manufacturers saw that the standardized sizes they had introduced significantly reduced the manufacturing cost of men’s clothing; rather than make one item for one man, they could make one size of an item, mens jackets for example, for a group of men. Suddenly, clothing was easier to produce, mass production became the staple of discount men’s clothing, and the clothing industry would never be the same again.

Your 7 days program to positive thinking

"Enlightenment" Your 7 days program to Positive thinking I'm sure you have a bright idea hidden somewhere in the back of your mind that you just can't wait to test out. Of course you're not the only one with the bright idea. So what motivates you to churn those creative, or even inspiring juices to its utmost flavor? It's always best to set up a personal goal where you can accomplish the most in record time, maybe like mowing the lawn in an hour before the big game on TV. A correct and positive attitude in whatever you do will make things easier, and even enjoyable. Here are some tips to make it through the week even if you're just sitting in your favorite couch. An idea takes time to form in your head and is always at work while you are busy sitting. Having a bit of positive thinking can help you realize things that are never thought possible. Thinking big is indeed the American Way and that what made our country prosperous. 1. Take passionate action towards living your life by design. Talk is cheap. Action = deposits in the bank of a passionately authentic future. Without it, passion is void. This is a perfect example where dreams are made of where you start by tinkering with your mind, then with your hands. And if the idea weakens, you can always go back to it later until you finish it. 2mit to yourself as well as those you love to create powerfully a life you can love. Instead of reacting, commit to creating from your heart and soul, out of love rather than fear. The American Dream will always be there, but a dream will still be a dream without motion. Be amazed as the transformation begins. 3. Recognize and embrace the thought that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Every time you hit on something that may appear too extreme, why not give it a shot and see if it will work. You will be surprised to see of there are other ways to get the task done in time. If you are not pleased with the outcome, decide to use that moment to learn from and make the appropriate shift. 4. Dwell completely in a place of gratitude. Learn to utilize what you have in your hands and make use of it in the most constructive way. Slipping into neediness will become less of a habit when you repeatedly shift towards gratitude, away from poverty consciousness. 5. Use a Passion Formula of Recognize/Reevaluate/Restore in place of the Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda whirlwind. The former is based in increased knowledge and abundance while the latter focuses on scarcity and lack. As you face people or tasks that may seem harder than scaling the summit of the Himalayas, allow yourself to realize that the task is just as important as giving out orders to your subordinates. You would rather be richly passionate! 6. Keep humor at the forefront of thought, laughing at and with yourself when possible. You may find yourself quite entertaining when you loosen up! I am yet to see a comedian ever go hungry even though his jokes are as 'old as great-grandma'. Life has so much to offer to allow you to mope around in self pity. Humor is very attractive, very passionate: life-giving. 7. Believe that you are the architect of your destiny. No one can take your passionate future from you except for you! Create your life authentically. As long as there's still breath in your body, there is no end to how much you can accomplish in a lifetime. The concept of thinking big is all about enjoying your work, which would lead to celebrate a discovery that is born within your hands. Watch everything flow into place with perfect, passionate precision. It's interesting how people get wallowed up by something trivial as learning to use a computer, when nowadays that top computer companies are manufacturing software that even the kids can do it. I don't mean to be condescending, but that's the idea of not having any positive thinking in your life-you'll just end up as a dim bulb in a dark corner. So instead of subjecting yourself to what you will be doomed for, make your path by taking the first step with a positive attitude.

Guided meditation in the news

Many studies have been done on the effects of guided meditation and most of these studies have proven its effectiveness on calming a person’s mind and body. Guided meditation is not a new exercise and has been around for many years but since the recent notice of stressful and time consuming jobs and lives, many people have turned to it to help relieve their stress and to instruct them on how to deal with straining situations. Through the use of guided meditation practices, people who participate in these meditative sessions are finding more calm and quiet moments in their lives, even when they are not meditating. Guided meditation and private meditation were developed in the Buddhist community about 2,500 years ago and have been used ever since. The Dalai Lama takes this line of guided meditation so seriously that he decided to meet with Western neuroscientists to help them test the effectiveness of the guided meditation exercises. The Dalai Lama stands by meditation by referring to it as a way that human beings express their ability to avoid suffering and find their own personal happiness. The Dalai Lama met with these scientists in a number of sessions in which they interviewed him and presented their research on the subject of guided meditation. He offered his opinions on the subject from his Buddhist point of view but also engaged in the scientists’ factual understanding of meditation and its effects. Although the Dalai Lama stands by his completely spiritual and meditative practices, he cooperated with the scientists and showed them that he understands the importance of science and research on the subject. Guided meditation was shown to be effective at calming a person’s inner thoughts and sometimes relieving ailments such as migraines. By attempting to achieve the three levels of guided mediation, many people have found their limit of difficulty and what they need to work on to make their meditative session more intense. The meditating person must first work to achieve an external focus during a guided meditation session. This is the most basic type of meditation and the easiest form to achieve. In the external focus session, the person must concentrate on an object in the room while still paying close attention to his or her own body. The internal focus is a form of guided meditation that is found to be a little more challenging. In this form of meditation, the person must focus on occupying the mind with a mantra or another small but non-thinking task while concentrating solely on removing thoughts from the brain and relaxing the body. The unfocused form of guided meditation is the most challenging form and it is the form where the person meditating can go the deepest into the meditative state. In this state of meditation, the person focuses on nothing and keeps the mind completely silent. People are finding the world of meditation is easy to become one with when they use the help of guided meditation. Many users can achieve their meditative goals and the meditative state of calm with guided meditation.

La prima donna restaurant is venue for luxury fashion show series by producer andres aquino

USA International Fashion Shows has partnered with New York City restaurant La Prima Donna to present the Martini Fashion Dinner and Champagne Fashion Brunch series of shows. Martini Fashion Dinners are held on selected Monday evenings and Champagne Fashion Brunches take place on selected Sunday afternoons. Located on West 47th Street, in the heart of New York City’s Times Square and famous theater district, La Prima Donna's elegant and traditional Tuscan cuisine is updated with Venetian style and modern urban panache. Guests enjoy a truly original and exceptional culinary experience in an ambience of a Venetian Carnivale complete with wall murals and Renaissance art. The popular eatery, operated under the experienced direction of General Manager Mohamed Choayra, has received excellent write ups in the New York Daily News, Playbill, Gotham and A La Carte. “We are really excited about working with La Prima Donna,” says fashion show producer and company CEO Andres Aquino. “After considering numerous places in New York, we found this venue to be a perfect fit for our shows due to its location, the ambience and decor as well as its exquisite Italian cuisine and, above all, the service of its management and staff.” The concept behind the events is to bring fashion shows to the people who love fashion, taking them out of the exclusive domain of the trade. The runway shows are combined with fine food and drink making a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the appreciative guests. A major marketing campaign is being launched in an array of media ranging from Playbill to the New York Times along with a heavy Internet presence. Opportunities are available for sponsors and advertisers who want to reach an affluent fashion-conscious audience. Attending guests come from as far as Australia and as near as midtown Manhattan. They come for special occasions such as family reunions, birthdays and anniversaries, father-daughter outings, and wedding proposals. Tickets to the shows are becoming popular customer appreciation gifts for favored clients and corporate incentives. Other guests include celebrities out for an unusual afternoon or evening activity and buyers looking for unique fashions. The ability to buy right off the runway and meet the designers and models in a relaxed atmosphere are among the features that make these events special. From the Far East to Europe to Canada and South America, the shows have generated a great deal of interest, and people are buying tickets up to six months in advance. Tickets are available through the company website as well as through various ticket outlets worldwide. “These events are positive experiences for everyone,” notes Andres Aquino. “The audience gets a fabulous fashion show and a delicious meal, the designers get a great platform to show and hopefully sell their creations, the makeup artists and stylists get an opportunity to show their talent, the models get to wear beautiful clothes and add to their runway experience, the restaurant gets to introduce itself to new customers, the sponsors reach a targeted audience that is receptive to their message, and the attending press gets some great content for their editorials.” The participating designers present some of the best wearable couture and exquisite accessories. Recent shows have featured collections by designers from a host of countries including Austria, South Africa, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Russia, Israel, Bulgaria, England, India, and of course the USA. Some already have their lines carried in exclusive stores like Bergdorf Goodman and chic boutiques on Madison Avenue as well as in other fashion capitals. The modest participation fee makes this an attractive opportunity to designers looking to expand their market base and reach the press as well as wholesale and retail buyers. Press coverage of these events has included many articles in the printed press and Internet as well as TV coverage, sometimes from the fashion point of view and other times from the human perspective. One recent Champagne Fashion Brunch attracted media attention when an 87-year old former fashion model fulfilled a lifelong dream of walking on the runway. She modeled a couture gown made especially for her. Upcoming shows will be making donations to children’s charities. Producer Andres Aquino is CEO of USA International Fashion Shows and Fashion Syndicate Press, founded in 1997. He is also the founder and creator of New York's Couture Fashion Week and Bridal Fashion Week, attracting fashion and accessories designers from around the world. -------

Home insurance quote online what you need to know before shopping

The information that you receive when shopping for insurance online is only as good as the information that you input when you make your request. The homeowner insurance quote is relatively easy if you have the basic information needed to give you an accurate quote. The online quoting system will respond to your request very quickly once you input all the data. There are different types of homeowner policies for different types of homes. The residential home, the townhouse, and the condominium all require slightly different coverage. The age of the home also dictates the type of policy that you should purchase. The online insurance calculators rely heavily on certain criteria when determining the actual rate. The actual square footage of your home is the starting point for most insurance companies. Square footage is used because home builders use it to estimate the cost to rebuild a house. You can find the accurate square footage on your home from the original house appraisal or plot plan. Once you have the square footage then you can add the upgrades like fireplaces, air conditioning, and finished basements. The online insurance calculators will often ask for a percentage of your total basement area that is finished. There are several questions asked during online quoting about possible discounts. There is a protective device discount for having deadbolt locks, smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher. There are even larger discounts for burglar and fire alarm systems that ring directly into the police station and fire department. There will also be a variety of deductibles. It is wise to purchase the highest deductible that you can afford. Lower deductibles no longer justify the high premiums. Homeowner claims are too infrequent. These are the basic things to look for when shopping. Use your insurance renewal declarations page if you are a comparison shopper. You will be able to move very quickly through the online quoting process if you have this information available.

Cereal for dinner is that normal

What’s for dinner tonight? I bet it’s not Raisin Bran or Grape Nuts, but why not? Research shows that whole-grain cereal is an excellent source of vitamins and fiber, and is low in calories and saturated fat. But in America, cereal is supposed to be eaten for breakfast. It’s not supposed to be eaten for dinner. We can’t do that. Says who? The advertisers, that’s who. What if Kelloggs launched a “dinner cereal?” and put a lot of marketing dollars behind the idea? Certainly this “dinner cereal” wouldn’t be different from any other cereal; it would just give us “permission” to steer away from the norm and do things a little differently. And I guarantee there’d be a lot less overweight people in the world. About 7 years ago I put my theory to the test. I ate cereal for dinner 5 nights a week for about 4 months, and I can honestly say that my stomach was flatter than ever, I never felt full or bloated and I got used to it pretty quickly. In fact, I found myself driving home from work excited about what cereal I was going to have that night, and I looked forward to it. I felt great. Our overweight problem is largely cultural. Big, dinnertime meals are part of what we do even though research shows that consuming our largest meal at night is a big reason for our bulging waist-lines. Not long ago I read an interesting study about the timing of our eating. The researchers compared the eating habits of some community in Scotland and compared them to ours. This community was in a farming region and the people, on average, consumed the same amount of calories per day that we do, but they did not have a weight problem. The reason: Breakfast was their big meal. About two thirds of their daily calories were consumed in the morning and they ate sensible lunches and dinners. In our culture, we consume two thirds of our calories after 5:00 P. M. The body’s metabolism slows down significantly after 6:00 P. M. and our bodies just aren’t burning all of those calories effectively. Timing is everything. Makes sense, doesn’t it? In our world, we do what seems normal, what everyone else is doing. A family sitting around the dinner table eating a bowl of Cheerios with sliced bananas sounds ludicrous. It just doesn’t fit into our cultural schema. But obviously something has got to change in our country or we’re just going to keep eating ourselves to death. Try the cereal plan for a few weeks and see if you lose weight. There is such a huge selection of good, healthy cereals out there so you don’t have to worry about getting board. Dare to be different.

Overseas travel health insurance for india

Health Insurance policy issued to you is valid in India only. When you travel out of India then you need Overseas Travel Health insurance policy because of following reasons : i. If Hospitalization is required while you are in a foreign country then treatment may not start in a hospital; unless you make the payment in cash or by credit card or produce health insurance policy reference / card. ii. Some embassies of foreign countries need it as part of documents for issue of visa itself. An example is the Germany Embassy or Spain Embassy. Even though this policy in the beginning was for taking care of hospitalization/medical treatment only but at present this product is available with certain additional features. You will notice that while in the case of Health Insurance policy valid with in India is having the limit of Rs 5,00,000 but in case of Overseas Health Insurance policy sum can be as high as US$ 5,00,000, which is nearly equal to Rs. 235 lakhs. (Rs 2.35 crores) Health Insurance policy valid within India is issued with difficulty for those above 60 years in age. In the case of Overseas Travel Health Insurance for India, the policy can be issued even for the age of 84 years but subject to following documents being attached with proposal form for all those whose age is above 70: • ECG test • Blood test • Urine test Medical assessment in specified format duly filled/signed/rubber stamped along with license no. of the postgraduate (M. D. or a above) doctor who has filled the report. It is to be understood that report by MBBS qualified doctor is not valid. The medical specialists of the Insurance Companies generally based in Zonal office or Head office review the documents and decide: 1. Whether to accept the proposal and underwrite the risk 2. If to underwrite the risk should there be loading on premium rates and what should be the maximum amount of Hospitalization covered. This approval cycle can take 2 to 5 days. Normally for a person of 70+ age the limits imposed with respect to hospitalization / medication in the policy are between US $ 10000 and US $ 50000. You will notice that this is much less in comparison to limit of US $ 5,00,000, which is available to those who are in age group of 70 years or less. The good thing about this policy is that it is even issued to those who have preexisting disease. Hospitalization in foreign country even with the disease (preexisting) is covered. On the concept of loading factor starting on a specified data it has been seen that for a person aged 84 traveling to USA, a specific PSU loaded the premium by 150%. Private Insurance Companies are generally not issuing policy to those, who are 80+in age. In these recent months we notice that PSU's have started discouraging the issue of such policies These policies can be divided in to : 1. Single trip policy 2. Annual multitrip policy As the name indicates single trip covers a single trip, which is starting on a specific date and ending on a specific date. It is possible to extend the date on payment of additional premium subject to condition that no claim has been made. Extension of policy is at the discretion of the Insurance Company. Annual Multi trip policy is having validity of 1 year. As many trips as you wish are possible but it is subject to the condition: "Single trip not being more than 30 days." Some Insurance Companies now offer option of single trip not being more than 45 days.

Organic search engine optimization the basics

With all the talk about organic search engine optimization and how important it is to promoting a web site, some web masters are deluded into thinking that they have no hope of competing without the help of a search engine optimization professional. With no money to spend, these web masters just bemoan their helplessness and learn to live with the fact that their web sites will always be at the bottom of search engine results. While paying an organic search engine optimization professional may indeed give a web site an enormous boost in page ranking, this does not mean that there is no other option left to the web master with no funds to hire one. There are lots of things in web site building and design that are commonly neglected when these details could have made a big difference in search engine rankings. Begin at the basics: file naming and page title The web site is a mine of opportunity to improve page ranking. A web master may not neglect to include keywords in the meta-tags and in the web content but has due consideration been given to the other elements of the web site? One case in point is file naming. When the web site names the web site’s home page, for example, it is usually the case that the name chosen is “home. html.” Right there is one opportunity wasted. This name could have been turned into “pets-home. html” instead and thus would have included the keyword “pets” which would be more relevant to a web site dedicated to pets. The web designer could then have incorporated a keyword in the file name of each web page that makes up the whole web site, and the site’s relevance could have risen with it. Another organic search engine optimization opportunity that’s often wasted is an untitled page. This is usually a mistake that’s been committed unwittingly and occurs due to forgetfulness and negligence on the part of the web designer. It is important to give a title to every page in the web site, and the more the page is relevant to keyword queries then the better the page title is. Enhance and improve: keywords, hyperlinks and images Even someone with little training in organic search engine optimization knows that the use of relevant keywords throughout the web pages will improve the overall search engine rank of the web site. However, some web masters merely include the keywords without trying to maximize their impact. Keywords could have been turned into anchor texts that in turn direct the readers to other pages in your web site or to other sections of the same page. Doing so would have increased the effectiveness of your keywords and could have increased the ranking of your other web pages. The navigation bar is also another means to improving page rank when it incorporates text links at the bottom that contain your keywords. Even navigation bars with images instead of texts should incorporate keyword text links underneath. The images on the navigation bar and the graphics for web design purposes themselves could also incorporate alternative text descriptions that are composed of relevant keywords and can be seen by search engines. Be accurate: relevant keywords If keywords are important to search engine optimization efforts, then it is even more important to make sure that the keywords that are being emphasized all over the web site are truly and actually relevant. There is a need to know what keywords most web-surfers use in relation to the web site’s business or service field. Being off the mark on this is a certain way to get bottom rank in organic search engine optimization results.

Traveling tips for the disabled

Just because you are a handicap or disabled individual doesn’t mean that you cannot have the chance to travel and enjoy a vacation. Your disability should not hinder you from having a great time exploring and discovering a new place. In fact, traveling today has been made more convenient and it opens its arms to people from all walks of life and from different backgrounds, so whether you are white or black, disabled or not you have every right to travel just as everyone else does. Before you make any travel plans it is imperative that you go check with your doctor if it is okay for you to travel. It would be best if you undergo a routine check up to ensure your health condition. If your doctor gives the go signal then start planning for the trip. Have your doctor list the necessary medication that you need to bring along with you if needed. Ask your physician for numbers of doctors in the area which you will be visiting in case you need their assistance. Have the address and contact number of the nearest hospital in case of any unexpected emergencies. Since you have a special condition, planning for this getaway is very crucial and important to ensure a pleasurable and enjoyable trip. Whether you will be taking the bus, train, boat or plane always make the other party aware of your disability. For first time travelers, I advise that you choose locations that are not so far from home and short trips for a start would do. Prior to making any reservations on accommodations do a research about the hotel. Never neglect to mention your condition so that they could make the necessary recommendations or better yet prepare for your arrival and ensure that you get the assistance needed if you so require it. Most places would be accommodating to your special needs and requirements so phone in advance places you would be planning to visit like museums, tourist spots, and other sites so that they could make the necessary preparations on the day of your visit. Asking for the help of travel agents in booking for your trips would be of great assistance. They can recommend what’s best considering your situation. They might even be able to offer packages suited for people with your condition. You can also source from the internet travel packages which you think will be suited for you. If you have a disability, I strongly advise that it would be best for you to travel with a companion rather than to travel all by yourself.

All inclusive inland resorts versus all inclusive beachfront resorts

Are you interested in taking a vacation to the Caribbean? Whether you are looking to visit Jamaica, the Bahamas, or another popular vacation destination, you may be pleased to know that you should have access to all-inclusive vacation resorts. All-inclusive vacation resorts are resorts in which you are given access to number of onsite services and amenities, which have basically been paid for in advance. When looking to vacation at an all-inclusive vacation resort, you are urged to do more than just examine resorts. A number of popular vacation resorts and travel companies offer vacation packages that are commonly referred to as all-inclusive vacation packages. All-inclusive vacation packages typically include more than just a stay at a popular vacation resort, but also your airline reservations, as well as your food and your drinks. If you are looking to simplify the process of planning a vacation, all-inclusive vacation packages are something that may be of assistance to you. Whether you choose to buy an all-inclusive vacation package from a local travel agent, directly from the resort, or from an online travel company that partners directly with the resorts, you will find that you have a number of different options. One of the many decisions that you will have to make are focused on the resort that you get to stay at. Vacation resorts come in a number of different sizes, shapes, and styles. Your two main options involve inland vacation resorts and beachfront vacation resorts, both of which are usually available in the form of all-inclusive vacation packages. If this is your first time vacationing in the Caribbean, you may be unsure as to which type of resort you should stay at. Of course, it is important to take into account your own wants and needs while on a Caribbean vacation. With that in mind, one thing that you can do is examine the advantages and disadvantages of inland vacation resorts and beachfront vacation resorts and then compare your findings. A few of the most influential advantages and disadvantages to both inland vacation resorts and beachfront vacation resorts are outlined below. Perhaps, the biggest advantage to choosing to stay at an all-inclusive beachfront vacation resort is the activities that you should have access to. As previously stated, all-inclusive vacation resorts often include overnight accommodations, airline reservations, food, drinks, and entertainment. It is no secret that beachfront vacation resorts give you more activities to choose from. It is also important to mention that many of those activities, like scuba diving tours or scuba diving lessons, may be included in the cost of your all-inclusive beachfront resort stay. It is also important to mention the beauty of all-inclusive beachfront vacation resorts. When staying at an all-inclusive beachfront resort, you are, literally, right along the beach. This is not only ideal for gaining access to fun and exciting beachfront activities, but is also ideal for creating a romantic environment. This romantic environment is ideal if you are vacationing in the Caribbean with your spouse or your romantic partner. Although inland all-inclusive vacation resorts as beautiful as well, nothing really compares the beauty of most Caribbean beaches. As for vacationing at an all-inclusive inland resort, you will also find that there are a number of benefits to doing so as well. One of those benefits is the cost. When examining the cost of vacationing at an inland all-inclusive vacation resort, you may find the cost a little bit lower. With that in mind, the savings are typically not huge in nature. In fact, that is why many individuals decide to pay the extra money, no matter how large or small it is, to stay at an all-inclusive beachfront resort. In all honestly, the decision as to which type of all-inclusive resort you would like to stay at, when visiting the Caribbean is your decision to make. Although all-inclusive beachfront resorts come highly rated and recommended, it is important to keep your own wants and needs in mind. Should you decide that an all-inclusive beachfront resort is where you would like to stay while on your next Caribbean vacation, you will want to examine Superclubs. Superclubs has a large selection of affordable, yet quality all-inclusive vacation packages for most of the Caribbean islands.

Bankroll it s win or lose

I've yet to pick up a good book on gambling that didn't talk about bankroll creation and management. It's that important. Even the lightest of books has a page or two devoted to it-regardless of the book's game topic. Unfortunately, the topic of creating and managing a bankroll can quickly become a complicated one. I've broken this article about money management down to two main segments-session money management and seasonal money management. I'll go over some light information on each to give you a real head's up. Let's get into money management. Managing your money by the session This is the most popular method and best for those not betting on sports-Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker, etc. Session management can get so detailed; you'll need a PhD to follow it all. But, we're not going that deep. Basically, it's like this. Before you go to play in the casino, you set limits. How much are you willing to lose? And you have to stick to it. So, let's say Charlie is about to walk into the Win Here casino to play some Craps. He might set a loss limit of $100. His bankroll is now $100. Ah, but wait. Charlie also needs to see a win cap. Yep, you've got to cap your wins and leave before it all goes bye-bye. Keep this realistic. For instance, if you set the win cap at $200, you'd leave when your bankroll equals $200, which would be a $100 gain-or a 100% increase. Anything more than 200% is highly unrealistic. Most people fail at both ends of session management, but the win cap kills almost everyone. They are winning, so why love? Yes, why leave? Why not stay until you've lost it all back? Managing your money by the season No, I'm not referring to spring, summer, fall and winter. I'm talking about sports seasons-or anything else that lasts more than one session. Actually, a gambling marathon would apply too. It works the same as session management, except that you're setting a loss and win cap for the entire season-and thus, the amount is larger. In fact, you might not even have the money in your possession. Let's try an example. Charlie is a hard-working guy. He lives paycheck to paycheck, but loves betting football. He decides that he can afford to lose about $100 a week for the entire season. Figuring in playoffs and the Super Bowl, he sets a seasonal bankroll of $2,300. He doesn't have $2,300 right now, but he has the initial $100 to get going. So each week he now knows that he has $100 to spend. Additionally, he set a win cap at $3,500. If his bankroll ever hits $3,500, he's out. Be smart with your money. You'll have more fun and you could take more home in the process.

Gaming virtually in today s world

Everybody loves a good game to get rid of the stresses of the day. After a long day of work, a good game of Scrabble can be a lot of fun, as can a game of Monopoly. If one is not keen to rack one's brains too much, one can also go work up some sweat by playing a game of squash or tennis on the lawn. Unfortunately, most of these games require more than one person. If you have ever played Checkers on your own, you will agree that it can get boring after just a few moves. However, these days, it is tough to always get people to play with you. After all, everybody has their own lives to lead. Everybody has his own share of tensions. What do you do if you have no one to give you company in playing a game of your choice? You rejoice because you have your computer to play with. Thanks to the rise of video and computer games, we no longer have to sit at home and mope because our football buddies decided they had better things to do. In the worst case, all that one has to do is switch on the computer and turn to a whole host of games. From word games and shooting games to field sports and casino games, there are hundreds of games that the bored person can turn to for rejuvenation. If you do not have your favorite games already saved on your computer, just search for them on the Internet. There are scores of websites that allow games downloads. Moreover, everyone nowadays seems to be downloading games all the time. Find a game you love, and download it on to your computer. Then you can spend hours just moving the mouse and the cursor keys and reaching newer and newer top scores everyday. The chess buff who cannot get a good enough opponent can always try his luck against the computer or against a sufficiently skilled online partner. In fact, lots of people are choosing to play chess online these days. Life has certainly become exciting for the game lover. The Internet provides the game lover with access to all kinds of free online games. There are games based on movies and popular cartoon series. There are games that involve speed and violence. And there are games that involve thinking hard and strategizing. There really seems to be something for everybody.

Get rich slowly

: Is it hard to get rich? Not really, if you’re young. Its fun to play with financial calculators and see what might happen. Assume you have just graduated from college, are about 22 years old and I just started your first real job. If you put $100 a month in an IRA that grows at 10% a year, you will have about $865,000 at age 65. 10% a year compound growth is about what you should exect if the money was invested in a no-load S&P 500 Index Fund. So for about $23 a week or $3.30 a day you would be close to being a millionaire. If you contributed the full $4000 a year allowed right now to an IRA (rising to $5000 in 2008), you would have $2,600,000. For about $11.00 a day, you would have a small fortune. If you didn’t want to take a chance with the stock market because it goes down sometimes, you would still have over $600,000 if you could get a 5% return. If your grandmother leaves you $10,000 in her will and you invest it for the same 43 years at 10% without adding another cent, you’d also have over $600,000 if you placed it in a tax sheltered account. Time and the power of compound interest are on your side. So if you’re in you twenties and want to get rich, do whatever you have to scrape together that IRA contribution. Every day you procrastinate is another day your money is not working for you. However, most people in their twenties need the money for more important things, like new cars and HDTV’s. You also have school loans to pay, children to raise and the new mortgage to pay off. But if you prioritize your life and stick to a budget, $11.00 a day is doable, although you might have to scrimp here and there. Consider that most people are spending their lives paying the freight for borrowing other people’s money. If you save and invest, other people are paying you to use your money. It’s a lot more fun to see your money working to help you get rich than having to work yourself. Think about the effect expenditures have on your financial future. If you bought a late model used car instead of new one, you would probably save $10,000 or more depending on the model. That $10,000 as noted above, would grow to almost $600,000 by the time you’re 65 if invested in tax sheltered accounts. Now look at it from the opposite angle, the extra money you spend on that new car you yearn for and must have now, will cost you $600,000 by the time you’re 65 and the car has long since been recycled into tin cans. I’d probably buy the car too, but it’s useful to consider the consequences. It gets harder to get rich slowly as you get older. If you wait until you’re 32 and put away $4000 at 10%, you would have about $975,000, still a respectable amount. At 42, you’d only be able to accumulate approximately $350,000. If you’re 50 and can start putting $5000 away today, you’ll have around $175,000 at age 65. Everyone knows that Social Security is not going to allow for a comfortable retirement. Even if the plan can continue to pay out forever, which is questionable right now, the money you receive will be far from generous and is subject to taxation. And you might have a good pension plan at work now, but will you be able to hold your current job to retirement? If you have a Roth IRA, you can withdraw the money tax free after age 59 Ð…. Imagine having a million tax free dollars you can play with. It will well make up for the small sacrifices you have to make to get rich. No matter what your age, start saving what you can now - today. Even if you only amass $100,000, you’ll be better off than most people entering retirement.

Understanding your rights when injured

Finding yourself injured can be a troubling, lonely, and confusing experience. Advice will come from several different places and it can be completely overwhelming. It will seem that you have little time or emotional strength to deal with or make sense of your rights or what to do next. It is very important to understand your rights and what type of claim to file to insure that you are properly compensated for your injuries and that the process is as quick and as painless as possible. There are 3 types of personal injury claims in which one may file; negligence, strict liability and intentional wrong. If someone injured you as a result of carelessness on their part then you may file your personal injury claim as a form of negligence on their part. If an injury is caused by the use of a defective product, then you may file a claim as strict liability. If you have an injury is a result of international behaviors of other individuals or institutions, you are able to file a personal injury lawsuit as well as criminal charges. Once you have figured out which type of claim you need to file based on your personal injury, you will need to find a lawyer. It is pertinent that you find one that specializes in personal injury law. Most personal injury lawyers offer free initial consultation to discuss your case so talk to several lawyers before hiring one to handle your case. Be advised, using a small claims court can be a viable option to using an attorney in certain personal injury cases. For minor injuries resulting in say, a car accident, it is best to deal directly with the insurance company as to avoid potentially expensive legal fees. For more serious cases, hiring a lawyer will let the insurance companies know that you are serious about the case at hand and can often help the process move along more thoroughly. No insurance company or defendant wants to deal with a lengthily lawsuit as they are paying the people on their side for their time as well. Remember, the absence of legal representation can put you in a fairly adverse position. There are several important questions that need to be asked once you have found a personal injury lawyer including: • What rights do I have that need to be protected? • What claim letters need to be sent; how many insurance companies must be notified? Will you do this for me? • How long have you and your law firm been practicing law? • When will I be charged? How much? • Will I be charged a legal fee if you do not recover money for me? • Who will pay my medical bills; physical therapy bills; drug bills; transportation expenses; temporary or permanent household help; lost income; property damage; and pain and suffering? Never feel apprehensive about asking questions of your lawyer. You are the one paying for him/her and he/she is there to work for you!

Dealing with trauma anger

I used to visit a support forum online for people recovering from various types of trauma. It felt like a wonderful place, and I know it does a lot of good for people. But after I was there for a while I started to wonder, "why don't I see anyone getting well here?" Out of all the people there, you would see lots of people having "insights," but the insights didn't seem to translate into anything but small improvements in their actual lives. The more time you spent there, the more you saw people repeating the same patterns. Once in a while people would suddenly quit coming and I'd wonder, "what happened to them?" I really wanted people to get well and to feel better myself so I kept thinking what to do next, what was the next step? ...and then suddenly one day it occurred to me: You can't become happy and healthy without doing the things happy and healthy people do. And happy, healthy, people didn't spend hours every day reliving the most tragic and painful moments of their lives! Instead they were out playing with their kids, taking a class, going to the movies, working, whatever. They were going on with life. It taught me that there is a subtle, but very important distinction between "healing" and "healed." We need sometimes to reflect and discuss, but we should never lose sight of our goal. The goal is not the healing process, but rather to feel good again. Focusing on healing is akin to someone pointing to the moon but you stare at the end of their finger. Too often leads you into your pain and limitations and not to where you wish to be. Since then I often think of my personal growth as one big matching game. If, for example, my dream life includes being very healthy and feeling youthful, well then today I might try to match. A healthy person has healthy eating and exercise habits. Or, say I wish to be confident. Today I might try to speak better of myself and hesitate less. Self-help is like a middle step that sometimes we need and use, sometimes we don't need but we worry ourselves into thinking we do, or sometimes we discuss the self help but fail to apply it. Anger is not a very enjoyable emotion and it can cause many problems. We often feel helpless in our anger, but there are some simple techniques we can learn to help us reduce or eliminate our anger and direct it in more healthy ways. Anger often is born out of a build up of stress, so the first thing you can do is learn relaxation techniques that you can use when you are feeling stressed. One technique is simply taking a break and breathing deeply and letting go of the tension held in your body. It is our exaggerated and dramatic way of thinking that makes our anger escalate, so it is important to start breaking the habit of this distorted way of thinking. When we are angry, we might be imagining that people are deliberately trying to hurt us or that we are powerless or that things beyond our control matters more than it actually does. Control issues especially come up with anger. We need to learn that we can’t control others but also that we don’t need to control others to be happy and safe. We only need to be able to direct our own thoughts and behavior, and more consciously choose to take positive things from situations and life. Blame is another issue that comes up frequently with anger. Blame is very dis-empowering, and it is sometimes sneaks its way into our psyche in disguise. Make a conscious decision to let go of blame just as you would let go of holding onto something that burns you. Expression is the last key to managing your anger. Trying to suppress anger you feel only makes it fester until it boils over or causes damage to you. Anger often can be unraveled by using the techniques just mentioned, but when it can’t, it is important to express it in ways that do not harm you or others. Sometimes it is enough to communicate to someone, "I am angry because I feel like..." At other times it is not helpful or possible to talk to the person with whom you are feeling anger. General anger can also be expressed in painting (even if you are not an artist), in poetry or music, in a journal, or some other safe manner. Just be careful that when you are expressing your anger, you are letting go of it and not increasing your anger. Managing anger should always make you feel more empowered.

Getting the best possible audio from a camcorder

Getting the Best Possible Audio from a Camcorder When you move from photography to videography as your means of capturing moments either personally or as part of your profession, you enter into a much bigger world with greater challenges as well. For one thing, you now have to deal with issues of movement. The problems of lighting and surface noise are just as big of an issue except now you have subjects that may be on the go and you have to go with them. But when using a camcorder to capture the event under scrutiny, whether it’s a wedding, a speech or presentation or some other significant event, the issue of having the best quality sound presents unique challenges. So its best to do some concentrated planning on how you are going to accommodate the sound needs of the event to your equipment because if you have wonderful pictures but the words and sounds of the event are muddy or lost, then the quality of your final product is seriously damaged. Many an unsatisfactory video was taken with a camcorder because the operator depended too heavily on the small microphone that is built into the casing of the machine. The only situation where this microphone may be adequate would be if you were conducting a one on one interview in a small room where you could position the camcorder within three feet of the subject. Even then, surface noise from the surrounding building could become part of the audio outside of the awareness of the operator at the time. To assure that you have complete awareness of what is going onto your video recording of each event, the investment in a good set of closed back headphones to monitor the audio is an outstanding move. You can plug it into the camcorder and you are dynamically aware of what is going onto that tape at all times. If something gets into the audio that is not appropriate, you can use editing techniques or even re-shoot the segment if that is possible in the context of the event. For the majority of events, plan to use the auxiliary audio input plug to incorporate a mobile microphone unit rather than depend on the onboard microphone in the camcorder casing. This small plug alone opens up a large range of solutions to the problem of poor camcorder audio that is so often endemic of videos made with this technology. If you are working with an external microphone, be aware of the limitations of the wire if you are not working with a radio frequency microphone unit. In a situation such as a speaker doing a presentation, you can lay the cord down between the recorder and the speaker’s stand assuming you have sufficient cord length to reach the where the microphone will mount on the stand. Be careful with the excess cord, perhaps securing it with duct tape so those listening to the presentation don’t trip on the cord or pull it free which could cause injury and damage the equipment. In many situations such as one in which you plan to interview people in a roving fashion or to record a speaker who is on the move a great deal, a radio frequency microphone may be necessary. These can be more expensive but without the investment in this technology, your audio quality relying exclusively on the camcorder built in microphone will almost certainly be disappointing. New year s resolution walk your way fit

“It requires a direct dispensation from Heaven to become a walker.” ~Henry David Thoreau With the new year upon us, everyone I know is looking for a fun and easy way to get fit. Here's a solution I've developed that doesn’t involve costly equipment or a ton of time. Before you commit, first ask yourself: Would you like to: • Lose weight? • Improve endurance? • Tone muscles? • Enjoy long range health? Did you know that you can reap these benefits (and more) just by walking? You can! But, what most people don’t know: In effort to achieve a certain result quickly, it pays to use a specific program (or a combination of them). After you've make the commitment to a walking program, next you’ll need to establish your goals. Ask yourself: “What’s my main fitness priority?” Then you'll need only match up your goal to one of these five programs. Choose from: weight loss, cardio conditioning, muscle toning, long term health or a combination of all of these. Here’s a thumbnail sketch of each simple program: Weight Loss: Benefits: Flatten tummy, shrink hips, tighten thighs, reduces excessive fat. Type of walk: Moderate; 45-60 minutes, daily. Calories expended: 2,000-2,500 per week. Cardio Conditioning: Benefits: Strengthens heart, improves aerobic endurance, helps you perform better during other aerobic activities and helps you recover more quickly from physical exertion. Type of walk: High intensity, brisk pace; 20-30 minutes 3-4 days per week. Calories expended: 800-1,000 calories per week. Muscle Toning: Benefits: Improve muscle strength, endurance, body firmness and increase metabolism. Type of walk: Moderate, with resistance; 20-70 minutes 2-3 days per week. Calories expended: 500-3,000 calories per week. Notes: Use hand weights-light hand or wrist weights and swing them in a controlled manner. When doing so, flex your arm muscles, keeping them as close as possible to your upper body. Long Term Health: Benefits: Done consistently, this walk will increase energy, reduce stress and fatigue, improve risk of heart disease, improve mood, improve self-esteem and ad years to your life. Type of Walk: Consistent walks; 30+ minutes, daily. Calories expended 2,000 per week. Have It All! Mix And Match: Type of walk: Choose one program each day, 4 times per week or check out some of the great walking videos here: ==> collagevideo My Mom’s story: When I was a teen-ager my mother and I used to exercise together. After some years, however, my Mom’s priorities changed and she found herself about 30 pounds overweight. Once she made the commitment to make a change, she used the combination of a daily walk and a sensible diet. The result? She lost one pound per week for 30 weeks and is back to her thin self once again! A couple things before you begin. Most importantly, before you begin any fitness program, check with your doctor. Also, to make your walking workout a positive experience by investing in proper footwear. You will want to have flexible sneakers, walking shoes or (what I usually recommend) “cross-trainers.” They are available at all sporting goods stores: make the investment, you’ll be glad you did! And speaking of proper form, most people also do not realize that there is a “way” to walk for the greatest benefit. It’s easy! First, strike the ground with your heel, rolling your foot to your toe. Then, push off with your toe. Repeat this with your opposite foot. That's all there is to it! With a little effort and your new flexible shoes "made for walkin'" you are well on your way to reaching your healthy goals for the new year!

The responsible tourists of tanzania

Tanzania not only has it all – it has it with style - a uniquely African style. Tanzania is a full on assault on all your senses; Tanzania is an adventure. Responsible tourism should be an obligation for everyone including the humble tourist. Whilst you are on safari and in the towns and villages you can impact in a negative or positive way – your safari will make an impact it is a question of what kind of impact. Tourism and Tourists have a responsibility to the environment and just as important to the people whose country you visit. It is possible and in fact should be the case that Responsible Tourism requires you to simply relax and enjoy your safari. You don’t actually have to do anything while on your safari. So what can a responsible tourist do to make the difference...? A small percentage of the money you part with and hand over to a tour operator should be used help the communities in Tanzania; the communities that the success of your safari rests upon. Take time when booking a safari to make sure the companies you use are genuinely helping the people and the places you are visiting. Some play lip service to helping the community, some simply lie and others help individuals. Responsible tourism should help the whole community. Charities are increasingly looking to become self finding, this means becoming leaner and becoming more responsible, they must become a business. Some charities and businesses such as Afriko Club, Naipenda Safaris and maybe Hoopoe for example, are three charities or businesses that use tourism to fund community projects in a responsible way. Funds raised by tourism go toward building schools, eco friendly lodges, clinics and caring for young children who would otherwise be left to fend for themselves. Whilst on safari I encourage you to take an hour or two, even a day or two if you have time and are just slightly interested in responsible tourism and to village life of Tanzania. You will be richly rewarded and your safari will gain a deeper, a more lasting memories. Maybe visit a Community Initiatives and spend time to see what is being achieved. I do not recommend the artificial over-orchestrated 'cultural addition'. A genuine experience of village life either in the peripheries of town or in the Tanzanian Bush is both easy to arrange and encouraged. If not by your tour operator a good safari driver/guide will organize this for you. If you are not interested do not worry just use a safari company that will help a Tanzanian Community and sit back and enjoy your safari and know you are making a difference. Try to choose a company whose profits will remain in Tanzania - not a South African company, not an American or European company - use a Tanzanian Company. The indigenous safari operators in Tanzania are more than 80 percent of the licensed tour companies in the country, their figures in tourism arrivals add up to less than 20 percent of all the tourists visiting Tanzania. Many foreign travel agents use ground operators based in Tanzania - ask when you book a safari which ground operator will be used and check out the web site for any signs that they are involved in Responsible Tourism and that they are Tanzania owned. If the profits remain in Tanzania somehow the communities as a whole will benefit. I encourage you to come to Tanzania and explore, the culture which is just as rich and exciting as the scenery and dramatic wildlife - Safari means 'journey' in Swahili - let your safari be a journey to discover a different culture and to discover more about yourself. Make difference when you visit Tanzania and take care to use a company that is committed to building a stronger community.

5 Crucial home business tips to realize financial freedom

Starting your home business is the easy part, but realizing your long-term goal of financial freedom takes much effort and dedication. There are many ways to operate a home business, but the tips below outline some solid principals you should follow to earn a steady income from home no matter what your home business. 1. Set Goals for Success Setting goals will help you stay focused on what you want to accomplish within your home business. Start with long-term goals for where you would like to be financially five, ten, even fifteen years from now. Next, create short-term goals for daily, weekly, and monthly achievements. To attain financial freedom is a great long-term general goal, but it will take many small goals to reach this level. You'll need to set small goals to create a steady cash system. A home business will go nowhere without goals, so take this step before starting any other tasks. 2. Create a Pleasant, Professional Home Office Evaluate your home business workspace. Do you work in a corner of your bedroom with a desk and computer? Is your office usually the kitchen table between meals? Do you try to work in the living area while the rest of your family enjoys conversation or entertainment? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you'll probably need to make some changes. Create an office space that is for work only. Even if it's in the corner of another room, block its view with office sectional walls or some type of barrier wall to give a sense of privacy. An office should be just an "office" and nothing else. When you arrive at your office, you're ready for work. When you leave the office space, the workday is over. 3. Get Organized Once you have a defined work area for your home business, fill it with supplies and tools to make work easier and more efficient. Choose a desk and chair for comfort as well as back, neck, and arm support. Desks with shelves and cabinets can make organizing your office a cinch, especially if you have limited office space. Also, keep a daily to-do list, calendar, and schedule book to prioritize tasks. 4. Stay on Schedule When you work at home, it's easy to get off schedule because of interruptions or the temptation to take time off for leisure activities. Keep in mind that every moment wasted today usually means more work the next day. Eventually, you'll be working around the clock and never seem to accomplish anything. For home business success, keep a steadfast work routine daily and set a work schedule you can stick with every day. Develop a mentality that every job is actually a pay-by-the-hour job. Every hour spent working will help you make money and gain financial freedom. 5. Separate Business from Personal Tasks Once you set a schedule, stick to it. Don't allow personal tasks to get in the way of work. These can be anything from cleaning the house to visits from friends or relatives to watching television. Take breaks from your computer, but try to avoid getting involved in personal tasks during your breaks. Many women confess to washing dishes, ironing clothes, vacuuming, and other personal tasks while on break from their home business. Personal tasks can cause your mind to be off-focus, and it will be difficult to return to a regular work routine afterward. Find other things to do during breaks that won't take your mind too far away from work. Take a 15-minute walk. Sit and read a self-help book related to your business. Or, take a quick snack break, with a healthy snack of course! Once you take these steps, you're ready to enjoy a steady cash system at home that works. You can earn money doing what you love most, and your home business can soar to heights never imagined if you stick with these basic principals. Get ready for a bumpy road, but also look for the financial freedom that awaits you just over the horizon!

How to welcome the arrival of unwanted guest acne

Acne is the most unwanted guest. It arrives at the most unsuspected time, without any notice. It is a universal skin disorder. Call it a skin disease. It is not contagious. Is it hereditary? There is no consensus on this point among the researchers dominating the acne wonderland. Acne spares none, not even infants, children, men. And for women, it is not only a physical ailment, it is more of a psychological one. All the more, when acne attacks your face, 'a face saving devise' has to be found on the top-priority basis. The market is flooded with soaps, lotions, gels, creams and antibiotics, and, above all, with highly capable sales-force to promote these products. Acne infantilis is the term used for acne that grows on newborn babies. As for the middle aged people, it is known as acne rosaces. And there are many classifications of acne, according to the nature and severity of the diseaseedo is the form where all the severe acne cases originate. Whiteheads and blackheads are two forms of comedo. Wherein, whiteheads are deeply situated into the skin layers. How do you know acne has arrived? Observe and take note of red swelling or small lesions on the skin. The skin coloration is on account of accumulation of dark skin pigments called melemin, supported by hardened sebum and other skin debris and particles. Pus filled lesions are termed as pustules. When acne assumes serious proportions, it is called cyst. What is the cause of acne? Very difficult to pinpoint as such. But it is highly probable that some of the causes are, poor diet, stress, weather elements, hormonal imbalance and to some extent, genetic influences. Greasy and spicy foods can cause oily or acne skin. Foods that aggravate acne are acid producing foods. Foods that benefit and help to mitigate the suffering of acne are those containing minerals, especially iron rich foods. Dry, rough, scaly skin, wrinkling, itching, pimples loss of elasticity, premature aging, enlarged pores, irregular sebacious gland production, dandruff, split/peeling nails, poor night vision, burning and itching eyes, thickening of cornea, skin being slow to heal and grow — these all are the positive indications of the impending arrival of acne. So, get advice and help from your dermatologist and cancel all the future appointments with acne!

Picture frames make or break an artpiece

One ancient proverb says a picture is equal to thousand words. What about picture frames. The main function of a picture or photo frame is to protect and highlight the content it holds. A beautiful work of art can be made to look drab by framing it improperly, using wrong materials. Similarly an excellent frame can definitely enhance the beauty of the picture it holds. There are frames and there are frames but to select which is most suitable for the picture or photograph it is going to be a very difficult job. A wrong choice and you lose the contented feeling you get when you look at a work of art. Occasionally, pictures are abnormal in size so you need custom picture frames which are quite expensive. To complement the picture, to get a perfect look and merge with ambience of the room where the picture is display one should be willing to commission a professional to build the perfect frame. Picture and photo frames of standard sizes are not expensive and they can be bought from your neighbourhood shop. To suit our individual style and also to enhance the quality of the pictures, care should be taken to incorporate these factors when we select standard picture or photo frames. Picture frames come in hundreds of colours, different shapes and a wide variety of materials which will complement the interior decoration. The photo frames are made of pewter, stainless, ceramics, composites and crystal. Your budget is the only criteria to select the best available design and material. Picture frames can be artful in their own right with wide borders, bright and bold colour. Try to avoid a picture frame which overwhelms the image it carries. For the contemporary home select metal frames in darker shades such as black, copper, gold or silver. To get a Mediterranean style select bold white frames. To create an antique Victorian look ornate gilded frames are the best choice to highlight beautiful art and special prints. The children’s room will get a youthful atmosphere by using plastic frames in vivid colours. Avoid metal frames to encase valuable pieces of art. They are priced moderately and sold as kits with their backs open. This makes the contents exposed to dust and moisture. With proper tools and after little practice you can make your own wooden picture frames and it is a correct choice for original arts, limited edition prints and other valuable photos.

Once this is done, brush your teeth to remove the bacterial waste for sparkling effect. Mix 3% solution of Hydrogen peroxide with equal amounts of water. Swish, not swallow, this solution in your mouth for 30 seconds. This helps to kill the bacteria. You can brush your gums and teeth with Aloe Vera gel for better effects. Need college expenses try refinancing your mortgage

Having someone in your home that is going to college certainly does put an extra pinch on the finances. This could make it difficult for the student as well as the parents. If you have lived in your home for a while, though, by refinancing your mortgage you could get access to your equity. This would give you a low cost loan that could pay your student’s way through his or her college years - and it may even allow you to reduce your monthly payment, too. Calculate Your Equity The equity in your home, which builds up each year you are there, could provide you with all the money you need for college expenses - and more. Depending on how long you have lived there, you may have enough to pay more than one bill for school. You can calculate your equity quickly if you know what your home is worth now, and what you have left to pay on your mortgage. Just subtract the amount you owe from the worth of the home, and then multiply by .8. This figure will actually show you 80% of your equity. If you take out more than this, you will need to pay for private mortgage insurance. Figure Out How Much You Need While you are thinking about getting hold of the cash you need for college expenses, you may as well think about other projects you might need cash for, too. Anything goes, whether it is a renovation on your home, a long vacation or trip, debt consolidation - now would be the time to get it. The lender, however, will recalculate any amount of equity that you get. The loan officer will also take a long look at your finances and credit history, too, in order to determine the actual amount you can receive. Get A New Interest Rate If you watch the mortgage interest rates on the market, you will be able to know the best time to apply for your mortgage refinance. If the market should permit it, you could reduce your monthly payment, a well as the total amount you owe for the mortgage. There are many different types of mortgages you could apply for, but if you have an adjustable rate mortgage, it may be a good time to get into something that is more economically stable. A fixed rate mortgage would provide you with level payments that continue throughout the loan term. Save More By Reducing The Time Instead of refinancing your mortgage for another 30 years or so, reduce it as much as you can - possibly to 15 or 20 years. This will result in many tens of thousands of dollars saved - and allow you to get out of debt quicker, too - if you continue to live in that house. Shop Around For Best Results When it comes time for you to refinance your mortgage, you will want to shop around for the best deal. Lenders vary quite a bit in fees, interest rates and terms that they offer, so looking around becomes imperative. Too many people could have had better deals if they only paid a little closer attention to what they were getting.

Is sleep apnea killing your marriage

Sleep Apnea or Obstructive Sleep Apnea as it is sometimes called, usually involves loud snoring as one of the symptoms. Anyone that has ever slept with a snoring partner knows that it can be seriously disruptive to one's own sleep. But what effect, long term, does it have on a marriage? It is a common situation in many marriages and apparently has more impact than many couples think. Obviously the experience of sleeping with a loud snoring partner is not positive, but what can be done? This is the question that The Sleep Disorders Center at Rush University Medical Center recently set out to ask and hopefully solve. In doing so, they hope to save marriages that might be in danger of divorce due to this cronic, ongoing struggle to get enough rest at night....and all the interpersonal implications of not achieving a balanced level of sleep. The Center is currently evaluating 10 couples in which the male has been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. The couples begin by completing surveys about sleepiness, marriage satisfaction and quality of life. After this step the couples spend the night in the Center's sleep lab where technicians determine each partner's quantity and quality of sleep. Two weeks after these tests, and treatment, the couple repeats a night's sleep in the sleep lab for comparison purposes. The results have been very interesting and mostly positive. According to press releases from the Center, the early results show that there is indeed a significant impact on the wife's quality and quantity of sleep. It is termed a serious problem that does indeed lead to a hostile and tense situation within the marriage. In one example cited, the husband's snoring was arousing the wife out of sleep over eight times an hour. Her sleep efficiency rating (the percentage of time she was actually asleep) was 73%. The average person's sleep efficiency is closer to 90%. In this example, the wife had attempted to use ear plugs, earphones and had finally given up and started to sleep alone. To treat the husband, the Center used a device known as a continuous positive airway pressure machine (CPAP). This machine is non-invasive and the flow of air it delivers prevents the upper airway from collapsing during sleep, allowing the lungs to perform normally. In this particular case, the wife's quality of life measure jumped from a 1.2 to a 7.0, indicating that the snoring had been alleviated and was no longer significantly bothering her. Her sleepiness scale (how tired she felt) dropped from 12 to a 6. Marital Satisfaction scores improved from a 3 to 5.8 and the wife's sleep efficiency moved up from 73% to 82%. Obviously on every level, this treatment had made great strides for the couple and showed promise in other situations. The Rush Center is continuing tests expected to be completed in April 2006. The Center will evaluate the results and expand on the information being provided to the public. Their press release is very specific about the measures taken as each couple enters the program. As stated "...both the husband and wife undergo simultaneous polysomonography, a sleep test that monitors brain activity, eye movements, muscle activity, heart rate and rhythms, breathing patterns, blood oxygen level and body movements and respiratory sounds. All sensors are noninvasive and do not cause pain or discomfort. The study involves first diagnosing the sleep apnea. The husband will sleep alone in the center as technicians monitor his sleep. If he has sufficient sleep apnea, he will undergo a split night study to determine the appropriate CPAP treatment. Sleep apnea is a serious health problem that should be treated. Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the tissue in the back of the throat collapses and blocks the airway. The breathing pause lasts at least 10 seconds and can occur 10 or more times an hour. Apnea lowers the oxygen level in the blood leaving the patient vulnerable to hypertension, stroke and other cardiovascular problems. Obstructive sleep apnea can occur in men and women of any age; however, it is most common in obese, middle-aged men. The most common signs of sleep apnea are loud snoring, choking or gasping during sleep, and fighting sleepiness during the day. In addition to continuous positive airway pressure, treatment includes losing weight, sleeping on your side instead of your back, avoiding alcohol and tobacco." Gas ovens

If you want to take your cooking skills up another notch then it might be time to look at changing to a gas stove. Gas stoves are the preferred choice of professional cooks for the simple reason that they offer more flexibility. The heat adjustments are more accurate and instant. If you turn the gas down, the heat will lower immediately, unlike an electric stove that will take time to cool down to the lower heat setting. Gas stoves also allow varied cooking styles that aren’t quite so easily achieved with an electric stove such as wok cooking. Gas stoves give you the ability to fine tune the heat and with the use of a wok you can cook various different meals that wouldn’t be possible with an electric cook top. Many people are concerned with the use of gas in the kitchen and in particular the safety aspects of using gas. There are certain adjustments that need to be made to your cooking procedures when cooking with gas, and in particular you need to be aware of the importance of avoiding contact with the naked flame. The latest gas ovens have many safety factors built into them that weren’t standard features several years ago. Modern gas ovens have automatic ignition of the gas and safety gas cut off to ensure the optimum safety possible. Another benefit of a gas cooker is the fact that they cool faster than an electric cook top when you have finished cooking. For this reason alone many people consider using gas a safer alternative. It is all personal preference but the ability to prepare better meals is good reason to consider buying a gas oven. The prices range considerably, from relatively inexpensive to astronomical depending on the features that you desire, so it is wise to shop around before deciding on the gas oven for your requirements.

10 Tips for podcasting success

Copyright 2006 Sharon Housley As podcasts increase in popularity, listeners have more choices. So while you might be ahead of the competition, you should still be thinking about ways that you can make your podcast unique and stand out from similarly themed podcasts. 1. Plan Accordingly. When making the decision and commitment to podcast, it is important to think beyond the moment. Before starting, think about the time the podcast production will take. How will podcasting fit into a current schedule? How frequently will you podcast? How will hosting of podcasting files be handled? If the podcast is excessively popular, how will fees be generated to pay for hosting? What is the common theme that threads all podcasts in a series together? Think not only of a broad theme, but also various episodic themes that fit into a broader theme. What will make you distinct or different from others podcasting about similar content? By approaching podcasting with a little forethought, you will set yourself up for success. 2. Original Content. Just like any media company, in order to attract and maintain an audience, you will need to provide original content, or at the very least, present the content in an original way. Think about a long term strategy that will help your show distinguish itself from others. 3. Get to The Point. Jibber Jabber is fun, but not to the point of excluding quality content. Listeners in today's society don't have time for incessant rambling. If you have a point to make, make it in a reasonable amount of time. Minimize the fluff and focus on quality content. 4. Do Your Homework. Not only is faulty information a liability, but incorrect information will hurt a broadcasters long term reputation--just like a journalist's credibility is paramount to their success. It is important that the information that you provide is accurate. While being a shock jock might have short-term appeal to listeners, most will remain loyal to a source that has properly vetted all of their information. 5. Consistency. The best content is consistent content. Podcasts should contain compelling content with episodic titles, that are united in common broad theme. The format of the podcast should be consistent, persistent and stable. Each show should be about the same length and contain a common format. 6. Timeless Content. Content that is timeless has a long shelf life. Broadcasters will benefit more from content that is timeless and can be effectively archived. "How to" content that solves problems will often have long term appeal and listening life. When choosing topics, consider the long term effects of a specific piece and determine whether it will fit with the broad theme of the show. 7. Articulate Words. The quality of the audio content does matter. Think of the last time you heard a good song, on a poorly tuned radio station; regardless of how much you like the song, most of us would move the dial along. Listeners will not want to strain to hear a podcast; pay particular attention to articulation. Another important item worth noting is that Podcasts have global reach and often global appeal. Minimizing an accent will often extend the podcast's listening audience. 8. Optimize Podcasts. Podcast titles should be optimized to incorporate data that relates to the contents of the podcast. Think about the themes when selecting a podcast channel title and description. Use critical and related keywords and phrases that relate to a common theme. The text in the feed is important for both feed optimization and for attracting listeners. Many of the podcast directories index the contents of podcasts using the information contained in the channel and item's, titles and descriptions. Use these text fields to effectively capture the interest of listeners. 9. Listener Expectations. Invariably listeners will come to expect certain things from broadcasters. In order to maintain a listening audience, it is important that broadcasts are consistent and satisfy the expectations of listeners. While it is okay to experiment, straying to far from what a listener expects will often disappoint. 10. Archive. Many new listeners will want to review previous broadcasts. Consider ways to make older shows available through archives. Archives allow broadcasters another channel to benefit from the content. Maintaining archives of older podcasts might bring in new listeners and satisfy listeners who just can't get enough. Podcasts require effort, but by following basic guidelines and thinking things through, podcasts can be instrumental in increasing web traffic and communications within a community.

Natural foods that fight allergies

Allergic reactions can manifest themselves in many different physical ways, most of them extremely unpleasant. In the case of environmental allergens such as hay fever or pet dander, it is possible to limit allergic reaction severity by focusing on a diet that boosts the body’s ability to fight off reaction effects. Many of the materials that are found in medicinal allergy relief are extracted from naturally occurring ingredients in certain foods and drinks, and including these in your diet will help to alleviate your allergic symptoms. It is important to remember that these foods are for fighting environmentally triggered allergies only, and the only way to avoid food allergy symptoms is to avoid the food that cause it. Green tea is quickly making a name for itself as a general purpose, natural cure-all. Recent studies have shown that green tea may help to combat environmental allergies as one of its many treatment applications. In an article published in The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Japanese scientists claim to have isolated a compound found in green tea that blocks one of the cell receptors that is key in triggering the allergic response. Because green tea is less processed than any other kind of tea, its natural composition remains unaltered and thus the compounds within it are more concentrated and better able to produce results than those found in different varieties of tea. The acids found in Omega-3 fatty acids also are beneficial in fighting allergies, as the acid acts as a natural anti-inflammatory by countering the formation of inflammatory chemicals. There are several foods which are very high in Omega-3 fatty acids, including several kinds of seafood and fish; salmon, haddock, herring, trout, mackerel, and sardines are all full of these acids. Other sources of Omega-3 fatty acids are soybeans, flaxseed, walnuts, and canola, and the fatty acids are also available in a more concentrated version through the oils derived from these foods. These oils can easily be included in your daily meals by adding them to the ingredients for your cooking. Foods that have a high level of Vitamin E are also excellent in combating allergic reactions. Some of these foods include greens, which are also very strong-tasting. Spinach greens, mustard greens, chard and mustard greens are all very high in Vitamin E. The highest Vitamin E food is far and away dried sunflower seeds, which contain almost 91% of the recommended daily intake of the vitamin. Almonds are also high in Vitamin E, as are olives, papaya, and fresh blueberries. Any of these foods are an easy addition to a regular diet. One last food to consider when thinking about intakes that will limit your allergic reactions are juices. Natural fruit juices are high in antioxidants, which help to fight the inflammatory effects that allergies produce. Make sure when you buy juice, though, that it is indeed natural. Many juices on the market do not contain a lot of natural juice, and it is the natural juice that is essential when it comes to containing antioxidants.

A tale of four dog foods finding the best chow for your hound

We all love our dogs and want to give them the best life has to offer. But with so many variations of dog food in the market, it isn't always easy to identify the best food for our dog. Who can possibly feel confident when so many brands trumpet buzzwords that hit the human aisles not long ago, such as "rich in antioxidants," "highly digestible," "Omega-3 fatty acids" and "Ultra Premium Formula"? What we can do, though, is to conduct a simple dog food comparison to determine which foods best fit our dog's requirements and our personal schedule. After all, some foods offer much greater convenience than the more natural, less processed types of food which may require freezing, thawing, cooking and preparation. Convenience aside, the best food to give your dog depends not on the brand or the style, but rather on your dog's age and any special requirements he might have. For example, older dogs require food containing a careful balance of protein, fat and fiber. Most commercial dog food companies address this need with offerings such as senior dog food, containing about 18 % protein, and food for dogs diagnosed with renal failure, containing about 14% protein. Dare to Compare Dry Dog Food The vast majority of dog owners go for dry dog food. Between the supermarket and specialty pet stores, owners enjoy many brands to choose from. Dry dog food consists of kibble typically made from one primary ingredient such as chicken, beef or lamb. More specifically, the main ingredient is usually a meat byproduct that's been processed, dried and sold in packs or bags for easy dispensing. Needless to say, meat byproducts are far cheaper than meat, so this type of dog food is not only easy to store, it's much less expensive than other types. Hard kibble comes with some advantages. For example, it gives your dog's mouth some exercise, and kibble's less likely to contribute to plaque than softer foods. When comparing brands, it helps to remember that there are essentially two types of dry dog food on the market: premium dog food and economy dog food. A smart owner will avoid purchasing the economy food, which is made from lower grade ingredients (for example, economy dog food will often substitute cheap corn for the more expensive meat byproducts). The "end" result, as it were, is that your dog can't absorb many nutrients but simply passes the food through his body. So in addition to enjoying less nutrition, your dog will produce larger stools -- and you might find yourself with more frequent vet bills. Other Popular Contenders: Canned, Semi-Moist and More Other categories of dog food include the semi-moist type and canned food. Many owners like to mix in some canned food with dry food, to potentially cover more nutritional bases without taking too big a hit to the pocketbook. Semi-moist food is attractively convenient to owners, and dogs love it. Unfortunately, it may cause dental problems in the mid-term and worse in the long term, because semi-moist food is loaded with corn syrup and other sugars, which dogs just aren't designed to process. Recently, more natural, "premium" dog food has been introduced to the market, in which higher quantities of quality, nutritious ingredients are used to manufacture the food -- often human-grade, in fact. Since vegetables, fruits, real meat and quality grains are used as the primary protein source in the highest-quality dog foods, these foods are a fast route to healthy skin and beautiful fur. For the most part, they contain no artificial coloring and preservatives, but are chock-full of vitamins and minerals instead. Although this food costs more, you can feed your dog less of it, because it's more nutritionally dense. So in terms of both convenience and nutrition, a premium, natural dog food is one of the best choices available to your dog, whether off-the-shelf or purchased online.

A dictionary of horse racing terms e and f

EACH WAY BET The practice of staking equal amounts for a place and for a win is known as making an “Each Way Bet”. Bookmakers used to be reluctant to take each way bets from everyday punters except in the big events like the Grand National and the Derby, however this is not the case nowadays, with most bookies taking each way bets and advertising the fact on their boards with the odds on offer. Credit bookmakers, on and off course bookmakers, betting shops, Betfair and the other exchanges, all now take each way bets. EBF The European Breeders Fund originated in June 1983. Breeders in France, GB, and Ireland signed an agreement to start a fund for stallion owners to contribute annually a sum equal to the median covering fee for all sires nominated to the scheme. Only the offspring of participating stallions being allowed to benefit. In relation to the British side of the scheme, proceeds are channeled into prize money, breeder’s prize money for horses sired by British stallions, veterinary research, and owner’s premiums for selected listed and patented flat races. ENTIRE An “entire” horse is in the lucky situation of having not been castrated, or “gelded”. ENTRIES Five days before a race, most entries are made to Weatherbys. Weights for these races are allocated the day after, based on the published race conditions. If the race is a handicap then weights are allocated by the official handicapper. At any time up to the day before the race, entries may be withdrawn, or “scratched”, at which time the horse must be declared to run, if the intention is to compete. The next stage is known as the overnight declaration stage whereby trainers have to telex or fax Weatherbys with odecs (overnight declarations) Acceptors Sometimes one can see the title “big race acceptors” in newspapers. Below this will be a list detailing the remaining horses in a race, after the forfeit stage. FAVOURITE Where a horse is allocated the shortest price in the betting it is known as the “favourite”. Two horses having equally short prices are known as joint favourites. More than two horses with equally short prices are known as co-favourites. Of significant interest to Betfair punters, favourites account for the largest single number of different betting methodologies. For more information please visit: Betfair-Trade/articles FIELD Multiple meanings: 1. The main use of this term relates to the number of runners for a race. For example “The field for the Derby this year is the smallest since Nijinsky beat ten opponents in 1970”, does NOT mean that a particularly cramped alternative to the Epsom racecourse has been found. 2. From a punters perspective, it means the shortest priced horse in the field, for example when the bookie shouts “six to four the field”, he is basically saying the favourite is at 6/4!! 3. A bookmaker’s record of bets taken on the course is known as a “field” book. This used to be just a large clipboard with specially ruled paper, but is just as likely to be a handheld electronic device or a laptop nowadays. The field book records bets taken, what prices are laid and to whom. The total liability is calculated, known as the “take out”. Most of this calculation is now eased for the bookmaker’s clerk with the introduction of computerization and laptops. 4. The total amount of money staked on a race, from which a bookmaker will take his profit or loss is known as “field” money. 5. The common Betfair and general betting exchange practice of “laying” a favourite, was historically known as “fielding” against the favourite, i. e. with the expectation of the favourite NOT winning. FILLY Between the ages of two and four a female thoroughbred is known as a “Filly”. Race goers have always had a fond affection for good fillies and mares. A filly becomes a mare officially at the age of five. FORM The sum total of a horse’s achievement on the racecourse, is known as its “form”, and is recorded as such in the “formbook”. This information is then extracted for use in the sporting press, and compressed for other presentations in newspapers. If a horse has no winning chance in a future race it is said to have “no chance on the book”. To form a suitable analogy, music is simply a series of notes on a page, and similar fashion the formbook provides mere facts about a horse for analysis. One can see that the interpretation of a piece of music from the same sequence of notes can create a completely different experience for each musician. The phrase “The Coventry Stakes form is working out rather well” relates to the particular race in question, meaning that horses running in this race are doing so consistently with the form advertised in the formbook, and the favourite may have gone on to win. It would be said that the horses have “advertised the Coventry Stakes form” or conversely “Let the Coventry Stakes form down”. FRONT RUNNER Some horses like to go straight out in front and stay there, “cutting out the running”. Preference for this style of running will be advertised in Timeform, the Racing Post, and the formbook. Sometimes horses that take the lead early tend to idle later in the race, and these horses may require “covering up” until the last minute, when they can be pushed to the front. Timeform and the Racing Post are, again, your best bets for this type of information. Chester and Sandown are well known tracks where front running pays dividends. Desert Orchid, and Reference Point, (the 1987 Derby and St Leger’s winner) were both classic front runners. FULL BROTHER, FULL SISTER A horse sharing the same dam and also the same sire with another, is known as a “full brother” or “full sister”. Ability on the racecourse is rarely guaranteed between direct siblings. Horses sharing the same dam are referred to as “half brother” and “half sister”, but this is not so for horses that share the same sire but not the same dam.
